fromlewie — Built Different, Delivered Smarter

For Lewie, founder of fromlewie, the brand started simply — creating pieces that felt genuine to him. No big strategy. No mass production. Just limited drops built around ideas, style and messages that actually mean something.

“I just wanted to make things I’d wear and that felt honest,” Lewie says.

Over time, that approach has built a small but loyal community — people who connect with the style and the intention behind each drop.

The Reality Before NextShip

Like most small brands, fulfilment started as a one-man show and very quickly turned into a one-man breakdown.

“I used to dread release days,” Lewie says. “Not because of the drop — but because I knew I was about to become a full-time warehouse worker.”

For Lewie, it meant handwriting labels, packing orders at midnight and doing daily runs to the post office.

For someone starting a business, being busy and building momentum sounds appealing — until you’re deep in orders and surrounded by packaging.

“The worst part was how much time it took. It honestly made me not even want to do bigger drops.”

Instead of being excited to grow, fulfilment became the thing holding everything back.

Why NextShip Made Sense

Lewie didn’t just find NextShip randomly — he was already a part of it. Through Connect Northern Rivers, he mentors the young people working within NextShip, helping them build real-world skills and confidence.

“I see what it does for them every day,” he says. “So trusting them with my brand was easy.”

It wasn’t just about outsourcing fulfilment — it was about backing something that actually means something.

The Shift

The change was immediate. Orders packed. Shipped. Done. No late nights. No label-writing marathons. No post office side quests.

“Now I don’t even think about it. It’s just handled.” And…life got better.

“Less stress, more time. I can actually focus on content, designing and growing the brand" It also made the brand feel more legitimate.

“Before it felt like I was just a kid making hats. Now it actually feels like a real brand.”

More Than Just Fulfilment

Something that feels underrated to Lewie is you’re not just handing your brand over and hoping for the best.“You can go in, see your stock, talk ideas, do custom packaging — they actually care.”
It’s collaborative. It’s flexible. “They listen. They want the best for your brand, not just to tick a box.”

Looking Forward

Without fulfilment draining him when he was a one-man-show, everything has shifted.

More energy. More creativity. More excitement around his latest drops.

“The painful part is taken care of — so now I actually look forward to releases again.”

And all that time now goes into designing, creating content and building what’s next. As it should.

A Simple Takeaway

If you ask Lewie what he’d say to other brands:

“No matter how big or small you are — your time is valuable. And once you get that back, everything changes.”

And for anyone still packing their own orders at 1am?
“Once you go 3PL… you’re not going back. I promise you.”
